This year we are trying to get information out to you in several new ways - one is by texting you (you have the option to select yes or no on your membership form).  We have also created a facebook page - when you are on facebook, search for Gulf Shores High School PTSO!

Who We Are:

We are the parents, teachers/administrators, and students of Gulf Shores High School, which include both family and corporate members, who serve our school by promoting student education, providing assistance for teachers, and sponsoring activities which encourage student growth, all of which are an investment in our future.

Fundraisers:

  • Fall - Shrimp Festival - last year we raised $4,500 selling coke products
  • Winter - Talent Show: An Evening with the Arts - student talent competition, food and raffle; last year we raised $1,451
  • Spring - (New this year, proposed)  Trash and Treasure Rummage Sale
  • Ongoing - Membership/Sponsorship Drive & Sale of T-shirts

Other Activities:

The Hospitality Committee serves the teachers once a month, alternating between luncheons and seasonal snack days.  We always serve birthday cake at these events and recognize those teachers celebrating birthdays during that month.  The Hospitality Committee is also asked to provide food for various school functions.

How We Spend Our Money:

  • EDUCATION-EDUCATION-EDUCATION
  • Equipment & Supplies, as requested by teachers, with a specific purpose in mind
  • Scholarships
  • ACT Review course, including books
  • Field Trips
  • Library Books
  • Photocopying for teachers (PTSO also provides a volunteer to make copies)
  • Electric Bill for school's marquee at Dolphin Avenue entrance
