The Gulf Shores High School Technology Student Association, "TSA", participated in the district competition on Friday, February 13. The competition was held in the Baldwin County Coliseum in Robertsdale with all the high school and middle school "TSA" teams in the county participating. This year 19 G.S.H.S. students competed in eleven of the fourteen high school events and won 19 medals.
The medalists were: Erica Gates-1st place in desktop publishing, Ashley Earnest-2nd place in promotional graphics, Tucker Hornsby and Chris Lee-1st place in structural engineering, Chris Lee-2nd place in dragster design, Lee Cooper-1st place in flight endurance, Logan Green-2nd place in flight endurance, Cody Hester-1st place in digital photography, Cody Hester and Allison Stallings-3rd place in video on demand, Cecelia Grass-1st place in safety illustration and 3rd place in creed presentation, Alex Parks-1st place in dragster design, Andrew Olsson and Trace Carroll-3rd place in flight endurance, Mattie Sawyer-2nd place in safety illustration, Brittany Henson-3rd place in "TSA" pin design, Katharina Smith and Ashley Earnest-2nd place in problem solving.
A special thanks to Mr. Lance Alexander, Mr. Robert Hudson and Ms. Amelia Hudson for coming out and judging several of the events as well as supporting the G.S.H.S. contestants throughout the day. Also a special thanks for Gulf Shores Middle School "TSA" instructor Mr. Jeff Ostrowski for allowing the G.S.H.S. and Foley High School "TSA" students to catch a ride on their bus to the event.
